Dedicate an Hour a Day to Something You’re Passionate About

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” ~George Eliot

In this week’s installment of 30 30-Day Challenges You Can Start Now to Motivate Your Work and Life, inspired by Marc and Angel, our challenge to you is to dedicate an hour a day to something you’re passionate about!

When you immerse yourself in things you’re passionate about, you bring a new level of happiness and meaning into your life and work. It could be getting involved with local politics, joining a club for building model airplanes, writing your novel, or researching and starting that small business you’ve always thought about. The possibilities are only limited to your creativity and passion.

We know that there are lots of excuses – you’re too tired, too busy, etc. – for why you can’t take an hour a day to follow your passion. So why not start with 15 minutes? For 15 minutes a day, for one week, focus on that thing that you’re passionate about. After one week, take 30 minutes; the third week make it 45 minutes. By the last week, make it an hour. You’ll likely find that you can’t limit it to just one hour. Try it out. You’ve got 15 minutes, and you might be amazed by what happens. If you’re thinking about starting a business, but don’t know where to start, there are some great tips in this article from Entrepreneur, “Five Creativity Exercises to Find Your Passion.”
