Wake up 30 minutes early every morning

“I never knew a man come to greatness or eminence who lay abed late in the morning.” ~ Johnathan Swift

In this week’s installment of 30 30-Day Challenges You Can Start Now to Motivate Your Work and Life, inspired by Marc and Angel, our challenge to you is to wake up 30 minutes early every morning.

If you’re a night owl, this could be a tough one, but could be worth a try for 30 days.

Early risers are more proactive, better planners, get better grades, are more productive at work, and are more optimistic. And get this, it may help you sleep better. Sleep experts say that the earlier you go to bed and earlier you wake up, the better you sleep.

Early in the morning is a great time to have some quiet, alone time. Time to do whatever you like, such as plan for the day ahead, write, read – the morning is your oyster! Getting up 30 minutes earlier may enable you to not be a crazy person in the morning. You can actually eat breakfast. Maybe even enjoy a less hectic commute. About waking up early, Julia Boorstin, CNBC Correspondent, says one of the benefits is that you can: “Get what you want accomplished before you’re too busy to remember what you wanted to do.”

What have you got to lose? Well, except for the 30 minutes of sleep … but what you gain could be immeasurable.
